Football: Results in top 5 European leagues

ANKARA (AA) – Granada take the lead in Spain's La Liga, while Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool continue to top their respective leagues after the latest games over the weekend.

In Spanish football league La Liga, Granada took advantage of El Clasico's cancellation and became the leaders of Spanish League, winning against Real Betis 1-0 in home.

The Andalusian club haven't finished at the top of La Liga since 1974 also they never won a cup in their 86-year history.

Meanwhile, runner-up Barcelona didn't play this week as El Clasico — Barcelona versus Real Madrid — was postponed on Dec.18 due to political tension in Catalonia.

Real Sociedad defeat Celta Vigo 1-0 in an away match, while Sociedad moved into the third spot, increasing their points to 19.

In the French Ligue 1, the reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain defeated Olympique Marseille 4-0 at Le Parc des Princes, as Kylian Mbappe and Mouro Icardi helped their team with two goals each.

Lille jumped to third place with 18 points after they beat Bordeaux 3-0 in home.

Turkish international Yusuf Yazici's one goal and two assists brought victory for "Les Dogues" (The Great Danes).

In the English Premier League, Liverpool defeated Tottenham 2-1, coming from behind to beat London team at home on Sunday.

With this win, Liverpool won their 12th successive home league match.

Last year's champions of Premier League, Manchester City defeated Aston Villa 3-0.

Leicester City hammered Southampton 9-0 in an away game on Friday, giving Leicester to set the biggest away win record in the Premier League.

Manchester United were the last club to defeat a Premier League team 9-0, when the Red Devils beat Ipswich on Mar. 4, 1995 at home.

In Germany’s Bundesliga, Borussia Monchengladbach remained at the top with 19 points after they beat Eintracht Frankfurt 4-2 at home.

On Saturday, Reigning champions Bayern Munich won against Union Berlin 2-1, scoring with French defender Benjamin Pavard and Polish forward Robert Lewandowski.

In Italy's Serie A, the leader Juventus drew with Lecce 1-1 at Stadio via del mare, while the league's runner-up Inter Milan also drew Parma 2-2 at Giuseppe Meazza.

With these results, Granada, Borussia Monchengladbach, Juventus, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are in the top spot in their respective leagues.
