ANKARA (AA) – Spanish head coach Robert Moreno will not remain in charge of French side Monaco, the club announced on Sunday.

"Our paths parted sooner than expected but I would like to thank Robert Moreno for accepting the challenge. Together with his staff, Robert has done his utmost to improve the team, with enthusiasm and dedication of his time. I wish him all the best for the future," Vice President and General Manager Oleg Petrov said on the club's website.

Monaco was in the ninth spot with 40 points when the 2019-20 campaign was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 42-year-old manager joined the club on December 2019 and he had five wins, five defeats and three draws with the French side.
