ANKARA (AA) – Premier League club Arsenal announced on Wednesday that the club will sign Spanish manager Unai Emery as the team’s new head coach.

The club announced the decision on Twitter, saying that the appointment is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.

“Our new head coach. Together, let’s make this era a special one #WelcomeUnai, ” the club tweeted.

On its official website, Arsenal shared Emery's quotes on becoming the new head coach, saying that he is “thrilled to be joining one of the great clubs in the game. ”

“Arsenal is known and loved throughout the world for its style of play, its commitment to young players, the fantastic stadium, the way the club is run. I’m very excited to be given the responsibility to start this important new chapter in Arsenal’s history, ” Emery said.

The 46-year-old manager spent the last two seasons with Paris Saint-Germain, and this season managed to complete the French treble with championships in Ligue 1, Coupe de France and the Coupe de la Ligue.

Before joining Paris Saint-Germain, Emery was the head coach of Sevilla, where he won three Europa League titles, making the Spanish side a major force in both La Liga and Europe.

Arsenal recently parted ways with club legend Arsene Wenger, who had managed the club since 1996, winning three Premier League titles.
