Fenerbahce beat Anderlecht 2-0 in UEFA Europa League

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey's Fenerbahce beat Belgium's Anderlecht 2-0 in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

In the Group D match at Fenerbahce's Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul, Fenerbahce dominated the first half. The Belgium side came closest to scoring when Anderlecht's Trebel struck the bar with a free-kick in the last minute of the half. The first half ended goalless.

Yellow Canaries scored two goals in 3 minutes in the second half. Valbuena scored in the 71st minute and Frey in 74th minute to double their lead.

Anderlecht's Bakkali received a second yellow card and was sent off in the 79th minute. The match ended 2-0.

In their first match in Brussels, Fenerbahce had recovered from a two-goal deficit to end the football match in a draw with Belgium's Anderlecht 2-2.

Croatia's Dinamo Zagreb will face Slovakia's Spartak Trnava in the other Group D match.
