COVID-19 claims 32 more lives in Jordan, 19 in S.Arabia

ANKARA (AA) – Health authorities in Jordan and Saudi Arabia confirmed new fatalities and infections from the novel coronavirus on Wednesday.

The Jordanian Health Ministry said the death toll in the country rose to 700 with 32 additions over the past 24 hours.

A further 3,087 cases were recorded in the country, raising the tally to 61,942, a ministry statement said.

In Saudi Arabia, the Health Ministry registered 19 new deaths and 416 fresh infections, pushing the death toll to 5,348 and the total number of confirmed cases to 346,047, including 332,550 recoveries.

The coronavirus has killed more than 1.17 million people worldwide, with over 44.28 million confirmed cases, according to figures compiled by the US' Johns Hopkins University.

The number of recoveries from the pandemic across the globe surpassed 29.88 million.
