Belgium top FIFA rankings, Palestine takes biggest leap

ANKARA (AA) – The Belgian National Football Team are still leading the FIFA standings, but Palestine are the biggest climbers so far in 2020, rising three spots to reach 103rd place, FIFA announced on Thursday.

"The AFC side’s success in January’s Bangabandhu Cup sees them leapfrog Estonia, Trinidad and Tobago, Mozambique and Kenya as they secured the biggest move by points and rank," FIFA said of Palestine on its website.

Palestine rose from 1,199 points to 1,204 to reach their current ranking.

Belgium, still on top, had 1,765 points in the world rankings table.

France, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winners, were in second place with 1,733 points.

South American powerhouse Brazil, the five-time World Cup champions, were the world no. 3 with 1,712 points.

Turkey and Serbia shared the 29th spot with 1,494 points each.

Anguilla – a British territory in the Caribbean – came dead last (210th) in the globe with 821 points.
