Basketball: Anadolu Efes vs. Fenerbahce in cup final

ANKARA (AA) – Anadolu Efes will take on Fenerbahce Beko in Turkish Cup final on Sunday evening in Ankara.

The match will start at 7 p.m. local time (GMT1600) in Ankara Arena.

Anadolu Efes managed to beat Besiktas Sompo Japan 78-70 in the semi-final to advance to the final.

Adrien Moerman was the leading scorer of the match with 29 points.

In the other match of the evening, Fenerbahce took on home team Turk Telekom.

Without playing its star players like Luigi Datome and Jan Vesely, Fenerbahce struggled to hold on to their 7 point lead that they established in the first minutes of the match.

Turk Telekom, with the inside presence of Vladimir Stimac and outside scoring of Slyven Landesberg, managed to cut the deficit before the first half.

Kostas Sloukas, who scored 18 points, got the last second three pointer to give his team the lead coming into the second half, 36-33.

In the third quarter, Fenerbahce once again established a seven point lead with Melih Mahmutoglu — who scored 16 points — but Turk Telekom were resilient enough to fight back and tie the score at 58-58 in the start of the final quarter.

Coming into the 30 second mark, Fenerbahce got the lead with 68-65 and the possession. Kostas Sloukas once again took the stage for his team and scored a crucial 3-pointer to give his team the 71-65 lead.

Winning the match 73-65, Fenerbahce advanced to the Sunday's final.
