AnadoluJet launches flights to Erbil, N.Iraq

ANKARA (AA) – AnadoluJet, a subsidiary of flag carrier Turkish Airlines, will offer flights from Turkey’s southeastern provinces of Diyarbakir and Gaziantep to Erbil, northern Iraq starting on March 21.

Erbil will be AnadoluJet's second international destination, in addition to its existing flights to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, said a statement by the carrier.

For the launch period, service between Diyarbakir and Gaziantep, Turkey and Erbil will be offered three times a week, with tickets costing $99.

Pointing to Turkish Airlines' impending switch to the new mega-Istanbul Airport marking a significant period of change, Ilker Ayci, Turkish Airlines chairman, said:

“Istanbul Airport gives Turkish Airlines and its subsidiaries the courage to make strides towards their goals. ”

AnadoluJet operates on 69 routes in 41 airports with a fleet of 36 aircraft.
