MOSCOW (AA) – Anadolu Agency photo correspondent Sebnem Coskun won the "Jury Honorable Mention" prize at the Andrei Stenin International Photo Contest, the organizers of the contest announced Monday.

"As a photographer, I always felt lucky living in a city like as Istanbul," Coskun told Anadolu Agency.

Her award-winning photo, "History on the Road Breakfast", features two men drinking tea and a host of seagulls picking up food at the terrace of a building overlooking a panoramic view of Istanbul.

"There was this cultural centre, [where] people have breakfast. I sat on this breakfast table there. It was amazing: hot tea, fresh bagel, seagulls and Istanbul."

She also said that receiving this award in Russia meant a lot for her.

"I have been to various cities in Russia while on assignment for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. I met with many experienced Russian photographers," she said.

Coskun was born in 1987 in Istanbul, Turkey. She started her photography career in 2008. She completed her undergraduate education and got a master’s degree from Istanbul's Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Photography Department.

The Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest is an annual contest named after Russian photojournalist Andrei Stenin, who was killed in 2014 in the line of duty in southeastern Ukraine.
