AA’s international journalism training program ends

ISTANBUL (AA) – Anadolu Agency’s News Academy has delivered certificates to the participants of the International Journalism Training program Wednesday in Istanbul.

More than 60 students from 27 countries received certificates after they completed the one-month training program.

In his keynote address, Anadolu Agency deputy Director General Mustafa Ozkaya congratulated the participants and said that the News Academy was “strategic” for the agency.

The International Journalism Training program was launched with the cooperation of Anadolu Agency and the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) in December 2015.

The courses included such subjects and topics as multimedia, new media and social media, news writing techniques, international law in journalism, and radio TV journalism.

Nedim Kaya, Anadolu Agency’s business development and marketing manager, said the training program was beneficial for the participants as well as the agency.

News Academy deputy coordinator Hayri Cetinkus took pride that the News Academy had trained journalists from nearly 60 countries in the past six months.

Anadolu Agency’s News Academy was established as part of the agency’s centennial goals for 2020. For the past three years, the academy has held frequent seminars and provided a number of training programs.
