ERBIL, Iraq (AA) – Six people were killed in clashes between Iranian security forces and gunmen in western Iran, according to Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (IKDP) on Saturday.

In a statement, IKDP said the clashes took place on Friday between its fighters and members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in the western province of Kermanshah.

Three IRGC members were among those killed in the clashes, IKDP said.

There was no comment from Iranian authorities on the clash.

Last month, Iranian drones struck an IKDP-affiliated camp in the northern Iraqi city of Erbil, killing at least 16 people, including IKDP members.

The IRGC had said it had fired seven missiles on the camp in northern Iraq.

Established in 1996, the IKDP is an Iranian-Kurdish separatist movement based in Iraq's Erbil.
