20 dead after limousine, car crash in upstate New York

WASHINGTON (AA) – Twenty people were killed after a limousine and another car crashed in upstate New York, state police said Sunday.

According to local reports, the deadly crash happened on Saturday in front of Apple Barrel Country Store and Cafe, a local cafe and home decor store, in Schoharie, 160 miles (257 kilometers) to the north of New York City.

The limousine was reportedly carrying a wedding party.

The state police confirmed the number of fatalities, but has not released the names of the victims as their families are being notified.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.
